These chemicals can get into the body when they soak through clothing and touch skin. There they can hurt your skin or be absorbed into the bloodstream. Chemicals can also be inhaled, enter the body through a cut or puncture in skin, or ingested with food.
Labels on containers include pictograms to indicate if the chemical in the container is a health hazard.
