Welcome to the Readiness Survey (RS), software designed to help you find your ideal learning path. The RS is like a gamified quiz, but rather than just being asked binary yes or no questions you will select your confidence in your answer by moving sliders for each question along a percentage-based spectrum e.g., I’m 80% confident that B is correct and 20% confident that C is correct, so I adjust the sliders accordingly. Based on your answers, you will then be given a unique learning path with resources to help meet your goals.

Features
The Readiness Survey is a unique tool that approaches learning and knowledge differently than standard tests where the outcome is a grade, usually Pass or Fail. With the RS, it is not a matter of passing or failing, but identifying the next steps in your individual learning path. Here are a few of the primary features of the Readiness Survey:
The survey is multiple choice, but you can choose more than one answer AND your confidence in each answer, supplying a much more detailed response.
Utilizing a spectrum of confidence in your answers gives you the opportunity to better communicate your current ability to perform a given task or role. Rather than just a letter grade or numerical score, the results supply ratings that show your state of readiness.
Readiness = current state of knowledge + a level of confidence.
The survey will show:
If you are confident and well informed.
If you have doubts but are partially informed.
If you are undecided and do not know.
If you are doubtful but more confident in an incorrect answer.
If you are confident in an incorrect answer and are likely to make mistakes on the job (over-confident).
Together the state of knowledge & level of confidence shows when you are:
Ready to be assigned to perform a task.
Not ready for an assignment but are ready to learn and need training.
Not ready for an assignment and need corrective guidance – you are likely to make mistakes if the misunderstanding is not corrected.
A unique Scoring Points system helps you avoid guessing by rewarding you for honesty.
It is important to understand that the Readiness Survey is not a quiz that gives you a grade, but a tool to help identify your level of readiness for a task or job and determine the best possible path to your success. One of the primary differences between the Readiness Survey and a standard test is the Scoring Points system.
The Scoring Points system is designed so that when you adjust a confidence percentage slider for each answer you are also wagering points for answers that you think are correct or incorrect. Scoring Points are tallied to discourage guessing by subtracting double the points for wrong answers and not subtracting points for answers where you decide you do not know the answer, e.g., 25% confidence in all four answers.
When you use the survey with honesty, the result is a clear depiction of yourreadiness – current state of knowledge + a level of confidence – rather than a B+ where some of the answers were guesses.
Key Points:
Points will still be awarded if a single answer is not selected, e.g., I’m 80% confident that B is correct and 20% confident that C is correct, so I adjust the sliders accordingly, resulting in a positive score that is less than if I selected B (the correct answer) with 100% confidence.
It is OK to express doubt if you are not completely confident in the correct answer, e.g., I think the right answer is A, but B and C are hard to rule out, so I move the sliders for B and C to 25% each and A to 50%.
If the sliders are left in the starting position (all at 25%) no points will be gained or lost. This is you saying, “I do not know the answer”.
If the correct answer is not known, do not guess. If a guess is made and the choice is wrong then you will lose double the points.
If you know an answer is incorrect, then eliminate it (move the slider left to 0).
You are given real-time feedback and study material.
After every question you will see the results of your answer with a supplemental explanation and link to a resource for further study.
The result of the survey will be an Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
The outcome of the survey will be a learning plan that is tailored to your exact needs. In some cases, the survey results will show that you are ready to move into a role with minimal training and in other cases it may show that you need more training, or none at all!
