After safely removing and disposing of used PPE, the last step should always be to wash hands  thoroughly. This is the final step to protecting yourself from any hazardous material or solutions   being used. What if you haven’t been handling any hazardous cleaning products? Guess what, there is still a danger of being exposed  by not following personal hygiene and food rules.

Never eat or drink in an area where surfaces may be contaminated by chemicals or infectious materials. If  a contaminated surface is touched and then food being eaten is handled or even a cigarette, exposure can still occur. Always err on the side of safety.

The same rules apply when putting on make-up or handling contact lenses. Anytime a contaminated surface is touched and then face, or eyes are touched, exposure is a risk.
