Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) includes gloves, goggles, face shields, and aprons. Your PPE should be the proper size and  fit . Wearing PPE that fits well makes the difference between being safe or potentially being exposed. For example, wearing gloves that are too large increases the risk of leaks. Loose goggles can increase the chance of fumes reaching the eyes.

PPE is meant to protect you from being exposed to harmful or infectious substances. It is important to know how to handle PPE after it is used. Some PPE can be cleaned (e.g., goggles and aprons). It may be reused after it is cleaned. Other PPE should be disposed of (e.g., gloves) in approved and labeled bags or containers. Be careful not to touch the outside of PPE after use. If clothing has been contaminated with chemicals, vomit, feces, or blood, remove it as soon as possible.
